Finally I have pretty much completed UK Active Outdoors for a friend. I’m not a professional web designer, so go easy on me! http://www.ukactiveoutdoors.co.uk

One thing I am frustrated with though is that Google often shows the sidebar contents. Google hasn’t finished indexing the site yet, but if for example if I do a search for "Subaru Rally Experience" and "ukactiveoutdoors" in Google it show one of the fishing pages along with the sidebar links that mention the Subaru Rally Experience instead of the actual page about it!

Is there a way to isolate content on a page so that Google prioritises certain div elements?

This is very strange, there is not link to the homepage. Have you submitted the sitemap with Google Webmaster Tools? It might help.

Yes, I submitted a sitemap three days ago, but it hasn’t indexed anything from it for some reason. The Google webtools shows a tick next it to say that the sitemap is okay though and is verified.

Google doesn’t update the index every day, I think that you should wait few days and see what happen.

Google’s can take a while to properly index a whole site. On the google help forum I believe people always advice to give it a month to index.

It isn’t so much that the site isn’t being indexed, but that many times the Google result shows an extract of the content of the sidebar rather than the main page content area.

So I guess that the sidebar is a resource/document with a unique URL. You might add a redirect snippet in that page http://wiki.modxcms.com/index.php/Make_Multi_Lingual_Site.

Or add more content in each page?
