Earlier this week I made the Elston Manufacturing website live.

Elston Manufacturing makes cargo space heaters (as is often used in truck trailers and cargo storage), traction sander (for trucks, buses and other vehicles that have to drive what are often icy roads), Gopher Getters and gopher bait.

They’ve been around quite a long time, which is why I took a huge loss doing this site for them, and because it gave me a chance to try out MODx (as they indicated that they would work with me). The reason for the unrealistic discount is simple, I have been putting up websites like crazy since 1996 and I have very few to show in my portfolio. Many of the websites I put up were temporary (event registration e-commerce websites) or simply have vanished from the web. I really needed a site that will stay in my portfolio for years to come.

Now that I have done one MODx based website (and I have finally gotten my MODx Web Development book from PACKT Publishing that I ordered from Amazon), I’m excited about producing more websites in MODx, and one of the first that I’ll be working on is a central base website for my Web Design and Development (SiteDesign) group at Google Groups.

So, I should be back soon with a new MODx website announcement next month.

    Thanks for reading!

      Hi Doug,

nice site. However I (who am I) would not use that menu. It is somewhat outdated and to me, disturbing that the main buttons and the sub buttons are not alike. I would change your navigation from bullet looking like buttons to red rectangles, darkening on hoover, and have the rest of the sub menu in the same red, same size rectangles. For the rest, looking good.

I would have to agree; that looks so much like one of those cookie-cutter "instant website" services, where the only difference is the color of those buttons.
