I’ve built a couple of large(ish) scale MODx sites - both with 0.9.6x, it scales very well.

Unfortunately this site is now no longer maintained because the magazine has closed its’ doors, but there’s 80,000+ articles in it, dating back to 1946 when the mag began - none of the old, old, articles required CMS editing features so they are being loaded into MODx templates via custom tables and a snippet. All the newer articles were inserted as MODx documents, of which there is about 3000 by the end.

This next one is still very active and is growing, there’s roughly 3000 resources all using the MODx database tables.

Impressive. Thank you for posting. I will have a look at these when I have a moment to do so.
There are things you can do to cut down on cache sizes discussed elsewhere on the forums. Evo processes the cache with every request.http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,36714.msg277542.html
$this->aliasListing = array();
$a = &$this->aliasListing;
$d = &$this->documentListing;
$m = &$this->documentMap;
$d['index'] = 1;
$a[1] = array('id' => 1, 'alias' => 'index', 'path' => '');
$m[] = array('0' => '1');
Does anyone know what happens when we reach that mythical figure of 5,000 docs?
