New Frontiers

Hi

http://www.new-frontiers.co.uk/ is my first ever MODX site and this is my first post here.

I’d like to say that I did this myself, but I basically copied the site created by Mary in her set of instructions at http://codingpad.maryspad.com/and worked through each step. I would have lost even more hair without this forum and also http://bobsguides.com/getting-started.html. So many thanks to all who give their time and experiences so total beginners like me can have a go.

As with everything I do, it’s a work in progress...

Also I’m struggling with the search aspect. It works fine, until you search for ’New Frontiers’ when it returns all sorts of unwanted results. Please check it out and let me know what I need to change.

Many thanks

Nice site! Glad that you found the tutorials helpful in building your site. It looks from your search results that MODx is not being able to parse some of your code and is spitting it out as is. I would recommend you go back in and look at any template chunks you created AjaxSearch results and make sure the syntax is correct. What versions of AjaxSearch and MODx are you using?

Hi einsteinsboi

thanks for your feedback. I’ll do as you suggest. I’m using MODX 1.0.2 and AjaxSearch 1.8.4

Thanks

John

Thanks for the plug.

Nice site.

The only think I noticed (using FF 3.5.7) is that the home page is positioned a few pixels to the right compared to all the other pages. When you switch between the home page and any other page, you see a slight shift to the right or left.

Hi Bob

not at all. I can’t tell you how helpful your work has been. I would not have even attempted to do this if I hadn’t found your site.

I’ll look into the issue about the home page positioning and see what I can do to solve it.
