    Hi all,

I stumbled across MODx in my search for a CMS that I, with my incredibly limited knowledge of java and php, could use to develop sites and that my "clients" (coworkers) would find easy to use to update the sites. MODx stood out as it was similar to Unity (the CMS for our main website) but much more simple.

The first site I’ve had a hand in creating is http://www.aalbg.sa.gov.au/ (90% of the HTML and CSS is mine, but I had no say in the design).

I thought I’d get your expert opinions on it, and I have a problem for someone to solve - When you do a search and click on a result, a single > appears above the page. I can’t seem to find out where it’s coming from and wonder if anyone has seen it before when using the AjaxSearch feature?

      Hi Kahli

Nice site for a first build - looks like you got the hang of things pretty quickly.

I took a look for the stray ’>’ to see if I could help, but it’s not coming up for me in either IE8 or FF3.5. Did it happen with more than one search term or was there something specific you were using as a test to make it fail?

BTW - great to come across someone else in SA making use of MODx!

Solved - after a bit of mucking around I discovered that I needed to include "&highlightResult=`0`" in the results page snippet call. Thanks AMDbuilder for the link to the wiki - I’d looked at it before but found the result there this time.

Thanks jcurtis - I’ve been building simple sites for a while but this is the first time I’ve used a CMS. Also nice to see a fellow South Aussie. grin

@tretch - Thanks. My menus are a bit of hack job I’m afraid. This is the first time I’ve used drop-down menus at all, so I mostly copied the code from http://www.muddydogpaws.com/ and altered the CSS. If you’re like me, expect a lot of trial and error.
