MODx beats WordPress! In Blogging!

Just a couple of days ago I thought WordPress was the King of Blogs.
Not anymore.

I converted my WordPress Blog to MODx, and guess what, it has all the facilities that it had when it was a WordPress blog! In fact now it is much easier to use than before, in all ways!

I agree that Modx is great at everything it does, in fact there’s nothing it can’t do without a little help from the great community here, however I have to disagree about it being better than Wordpress for blogging.

Wordpress was developed as a blogging platform and has been market leader for a long time and I’ve built several sites using it. Don’t get me wrong im not slating Modx, for preference it is the platform that I always go for if it will work with what I have to build however we often build sites in Modx and their blog in wordpress.

I think 1 feature that would really bring modx into another league is the ability to add posts / pages to multiple categories, if it had that feature I think I would probably use it for blogging as well.

Wordpress is an incredibly capable out of the box blogging platform to be sure. If I needed a dedicated power-blogging app, it’d be hard to beat. If you want simpler templates and/or additional content without restriction in addition to a blog then MODx becomes an interesting option, especially with some of the third-party commenting solutions like Disqus and Echo.

As they say you are a newbie only once ... and a newbie knows where the shoe pinches
So while learning MODx and finding solutions why not post these solutions!?

They also say the best way to learn is to teach.
