Just launched the Gorman Darby site. They’re a new partnership and this is their first venture onto the net.
They wanted it to look fairly conservative, but not old fashioned, so I had to resist the allure of too much eye candy laugh
The site makes extensive use of :
    Wayfinder ( top & section menus )
Ditto ( anything with a read more link )
jQuery ( slideshow, menu animation, form validation & Tax calendar slider )
FeedX ( all the news blocks on the left )
Google Widgets ( Stock prices etc. )
    Blue & Grey ( everywhere! )
I’ve suggested the client spends time on editing some of the key text make the text a bit punchier.
Open to suggestions, feedback & proof reading.
I haven’t been doing many complete sites over the last year or two, spend most of my time doing development & customisation for designers and their clients.

I bet that when I come home to Chrome it looks beautiful.
But you do want it to look good in IE this site! smiley

I like the design, and the effects are impressive, but I don’t think the slide-up works very well. In IE7, it goes away before you can read it unless you have the mouse on it and there’s no way to know that. Since I was moving the mouse around, I assumed that I was making it appear and disappear but couldn’t figure out how. It was a little confusing and distracting.

I would try to put both its appearance and disappearance under user control. It would also be less distracting, IMO, if it faded in in place instead of sliding.

            Just my $.02. smiley

              Thanks all smiley
@mrhaw So you spotted all those deliberate mistakes! Should all be fixed now.
@BobRay I’ve added a little more time on the duration of the slide up panel.
Just looking at it in IE6 and debating if it’s worthwhile fixing things >:(
Suppose I better, someone will point it out later I guess.
