Will that involve database interaction? (CRUD basically).

Offcourse. I’m gonna go with a Ajax(Jquery) solution if possible. I’ve done it with mootools but I like Jquery more.

Nice! I like Ajax and jQuery myself Maybe I’ll learn a thing or two about Ajax in the process

As an aside, I have feeling that MODx Evo will see a lot more uses/requests for "module-like" functionality in the backend (I think modules will be phased out in future?)

I think modules will be phased out in future?

Why For smoother transition to Revo?

Modules in Revo == Custom Manager Pages. There’s no provision to take existing modules and port them over without some effort.

I believe I read about the phasing out somewhere in the forums (other than the public wiki)...can’t find it now....Maybe Ryan can confirm..

I’m sure Evo will be around for at least 2 years.

Evo’s not going anywhere....it will be there for a long time to come...I think modules will become just like normal snippets; just that they will be "snippets" running in the backend...Again, Ryan, etc should be able to confirm this...(let’s not panic!, ha! )

cheers/k

Module functionality will definitely be there, just implemented in a different and more capable and powerful manner.

So the plan is to change the EVO code to work with CMP?

Hi guys,

In the last weeks I wrote 2 new articles. Have a look and let me know what you think.

PS: I’m still waiting for my friend to correct any dramatically mistakes I’ve done.
