Hello!
I’m Matt and I’m the other half of a small London based design company (my partner Sophia is the other half), we design textiles and various products in far out fabrics. We like our colours bright, our Elvis loud and our MODx EVO! (I’ve just upgraded our site to EVO1, and was absolutely amazed that only one thing broke in a horrible, ugly and unexpected fashion! -Mostly because we’re using A LOT of proper shoddy custom code written by my good self – and anyway I’m growing to love that
cheeky red parser message!) Seriously though, damn good job guys! I’ve been using modx for years and lurkin’ in the forums since the first public Beta, and I wouldn’t use anything else. No not even Joooomla!
Sooo...
here’s our click here thing, and my excuses are that I’m not actually a Web Developer and should not be allowed near anyone’s code ever! I wrote and built everything myself, even the commerce bit is my own little Frankenstein monster and it took bloody ages – far longer than if we had hired someone who
didn’t have
PHP for Beginners on his shelf... I do all the writing, photography and breaking of things, so your expert feedback, confused stares, and random opinions will be greatly appreciated. On top of all that, we design and hand make all of the products you can see on our site at our East London Design studio.
Have a good click around, especially on the
what’s new dooby that whole thing is built on, Wayfinder, Ditto, and a couple of custom snippets by
Dr Scotty, and I’m using it to handle pretty much every doc on the site.
The live currency conversions in the /shop/ are based on a snippet by
ganeshXL, the little thumbnails on the product pages are Jot comments. In fact there’s loads of good stuff going on everywhere, I need to build a nice credits page with a big fat link pointing back.
Some stuff might break and other stuff might explode, I haven’t tested anything in the microsoft ones yet (I work on a Mac), but I’m into writing clean, validating strict xhtml so I’m sure it will be all right with the big M, it’s Safari and Firefox you’ve got to watch out for!
Matt.
