I’m delighted to launch our new website at http://www.sandersdesign.com.

After some six months in development (between client work) I’m excited to have launched our new studio site. The completed website uses jQuery with MODx Evolution. I have developed the site to showcase my work and act as a publishing platform to post blog articles on design and marketing.

I invite any feedback, and welcome comments if you see any bugs or odd styling. "We all know that no matter how much testing a site there’s always pesky browsers that mess-up our nice designs"

p.s. thanks to the MODx community for creating such a perfect and powerful CMS smiley

        shocked oooh -nice!

i know it’s about image size & pageload, but i guess you could go with higher quality jpegs smiley for the slideshow

btw, what script do you use for the slide-downs on featured work?

          Martin,

Nice and clean! thx for sharing. Only niggle is....the background colour of the menu headers (about, creative ideas, etc) threw me off; I thought they were clickable menu items. smiley

          cheers/k

I’ve updated new images for our Featured Work within the home page, hopefully they look much sharper.

I followed the tutorial at http://blog.themeforest.net/tutorials/jquery-for-absolute-beginners-day-8/ to achieve the cool slide down jQuery effect, it works rather nicely smiley

Only niggle is....the background colour of the menu headers (about, creative ideas, etc) threw me off; I thought they were clickable menu items. - kongondo

In regards the menu headers, I can see where your coming from kongondo. I could move the ’who we are’ to the ’about’ header, and ’what we do’ to the ’creative’ headline but I’m unsure if these pages could be missed.

I’d be interested to hear if anyone else experienced the same navigation issues.

On a personal note, my favourite part of the whole site is the ’new project’ http://www.sandersdesign.com/contact-us#new-project contact form. Its my first attempt jQuery and jQuery UI and am quite happy with the results.

            Many thanks smiley

The menu headings didn’t bother me, but then I’m always "exploring" with my mouse anyway, just to see what happens here or there...

Very nice site! Seriously, this is one of the most impressive I’ve seen in a while (anywhere). I really like your logo. It’s everything a good logo should be--simple, interesting, and unique.
I'm learning more about MODx all the time and loving it.

                  That’s a tidy re-design dude.

I can see why, that is one sexy little form!!! One question though - have you noticed any decrease in contact conversions? I’d just be a little worried that it might scare someone away? Other than that it’s awesome!

The only other negative thing I can see on the site is that you’ve called your portfolio "creative". Most potentials will want to see your work at one stage or another, in my opinion you should make it as easy for them to find as you can. I had to guess where it was, I can imagine potentials having a quick look around the homepage for something that says "portfolio", not finding it and moving to the next designer never actually looking at your work.

                  Anyway, brilliant work!

                  Cheers
