I’m proud to say that www.compeek.net is now running off the latest SVN version of Revolution (2.0 branch)! It’s been a great experience so far, and I’m working on getting my site working just how I’d like.
I still really only have the home page, although the contact page is sort of working. I’m not sure I like SPForm, which is the addon I’m using right now, so if eForm is released for Revolution I’ll probably use that.
Two of my menus have an extra separator at the end, and I’m aware of this, but I can’t easily fix it until the last template feature gets added to Wayfinder for Revolution. Any suggestions on how to fix this until then would be welcome.
I originally installed Revolution from SVN on my local server and set it all up, but I wanted to have a copy on my live site. I’m proud to say that this was a slightly time consuming, but easy process. I installed from SVN to my live hosting server (at Hostmonster), and then I uploaded all of my assets and components to the correct locations with an FTP client. I used phpMyAdmin on my local server to export my entire MODx database, and then I used phpMyAdmin on my live server to import the entire database and overwrite the default installation. I made a few more changes, such as to the configuration files, and then everything was up and working. I logged in to the live site’s manager, cleared the cache, and everything works just like it does on my local server. Now I still work on my local server, and when I want to update the live site, I export and import the database and simply upload any assets or other files I’ve changed. The process is quite painless, and in fact, it gets even easier when I set up my sync program, Allway Sync Pro, with a job for syncing the assets between the local and live sites. Then all I do is run the sync job and do the database export/import, clear the cache, and everything is updated.
I really appreciate that MODx is set up well enough that doing this is quite easy.

Nice work, guys.
