International accountancy / law firm network website

I’ve just rolled out a new multilingual site for an international accountancy / law firm network. It uses a custom multi language solution working on much the same principles as the recently released YAMS module by forum member PMS; essentially the various translated text regions are delimited by custom tags within the cache and the document output is parsed by a plugin to strip the output of all but the currently selected language. I’m using domain aliases to maximise the search placement in localised search engines.

The flash maps make use of the excellent amMap and the points are defined within the Manager using a geocoding plugin (something I’m hoping to incorporate into the next release of my GoogleMap snippet) - and passed to amMap as xml by my trusty old friend Ditto.

I’d very much welcome your comments, particularly from people who speak any of the non-english languages represented!

Very nice. Corporate, but not boring

I mainly browsed around the german site and found an oddity when selecting a member profile page from the Flash-map: on the subsequent profile page there’s a Javascript error from the Googlemap API
e.g. http://de.morisoninternational.com/members/profiles/Fineac/Fineac-zurich/
(for some reason, IE8 displays the error message and Firefox just shows a blank error window)

I guess it’s because Google’s API keys are always just for one domain. Maybe you have to get a separate key per subdomain as well.

Wow! Love the design!

Good catch Ganesh, thank you!

I have it set up to serve separate api keys but at the last minute they swapped morisoninternation.de to de.morisoninternation... fixed now

Very nice site! It’s always amazing to see what people do with MODx...

The only thing I noticed is the content font size seamed a bit on the small side (1024x1280). It’s readable, but a touch larger would be nice. I’m sure some of the older visitors would also enjoy some enlargement to help with their poorer eyesight...

Simply beautiful site!

Hats off to you.

Very nice site! Looks great. Thanks for posting.

Very nice site!!!

The language options are great, but I noticed that the URL gets crazy once selecting a language:

Not sure if that is related to the language or some statistics application, but it is a bit strange.

I have been meaning to take a closer look at Yams...looks like a cool solution.

The URL thing isn’t pretty but it’s google’s recomended way of enabling Analytics to track across multiple domains, something that was important for my client.

Nice! Thx for sharing...
