    Hello all,

After 3 months of hard ModX work, I’ve just launched a complete redesign of www.lacunza.com- A Spanish school located in San Sebastian, Spain. This is my first big project with ModX and I’d love to know what you guys think of the result.

The biggest project for me was the navigation. With 140+ pages per language (only English and French have been launched so far), finding an uncluttered system that would work with Wayfinder was a nightmare but I think I found the best possible solution (jQuery Treeview and a lot of css and Wayfinder templates).

This was my first major project using ModX and I was extremely satisfied using it. The team at the school isn’t terribly technological yet they love using it to update content and add news stories, etc... There’s been many times when I’ve had 5+ people all editing content in the manager and had no trouble whatsoever. it seems like every issue I ran into was easily solved by ModX’s capabilities or answered in no time on these forums, thanks for all the help Modx!

Very nice site. I like the event calendar, how is that setup? Is that a jQuery calendar?

Ooh, more calendar goodness... yes please do tell what’s driving that.

Great site, that’s an impressive list of localizations to keep track of!

Very nice site. Very visually pleasing too.

The calendar is definitely impressive! I’m constantly amazed at the things people are accomplishing with MODx.

          Nice job!

Thanks for the kind words, glad to know the calendar is a hit- however, I’m almost scared to mention that it’s totally separate from ModX. It’s a lightly modded version of a (for purchase, yuck) Dreamweaver calendar plug-in: http://www.dreamweavercalendars.com/standalone-calendars/event-calendar

To be honest, I wouldn’t recommend it either. The control panel is just way too buggy and it’s designed in a way that makes small modification and customization very difficult. I only got it to the functional status you see now after some long nights digging through their Javascript. If there was a better open source option out there I’d happily switch.

Seems like a recurring topic throughout the forums, has anyone had any luck with the Yahoo YUI calendar app?

Thanks for filling us in. Shame, on the outside it looks quite nice, and has the dual month presentation which seems to be requested fairly often.

I’d forgotten out that YUI had a calender app... think I’ll go peek it now.

Good work with the menu! For the calendar, I have used Easy Events http://modxcms.com/extras.html?view=package/view&package=118 with no problems. You can set it up so that your news items have the option of being events with date input, or have stand alone events.
                Worth a try.
