Words Matter now running under MODx Revolution

My first public Revo site: http://wordsmatter.softville.com is up.

The entire MODx core directory has been moved to a non-web-accessible area and the Manager directory is not called Manager. It’s running the current SVN version of Revo (as of today).

I’d volunteer conversion advice, but it wasn’t a MODx site to begin with. I basically followed the advice in the "Porting Your Site to MODx" section at bobsguides.com (in my sig), but using Revo tags. On the whole, I’d say it was significantly easier than porting a site to 0.9.6--quite painless actually.

The only thing I remember having trouble with was converting a couple of snippets that interacted directly with the DB. I got that working fairly quickly with a little help from OpenGeek here on the forums.

Sorry, I should have been clearer. The Manager directory is still called "Manager" by default and the core directory is still where it was by default.

I just renamed the Manager dir. during the install to make a brute-force login attack a lot more difficult.

I should also say that I’m not recommending Revo on live sites to anyone (especially not on a client’s site) although it’s been fairly stable for me. There are still problems with the Manager in IE7 and it’s still an Alpha version.

Good show BobRay. The site is working great, and seems quite responsive (that is fast). I can’t wait until Revo goes beta (or RC) so that I can start migrating some of my personal sites too

Glad to hear it. I’ve been on an iffy internet connection and couldn’t tell.
