    Hi all,

I’ve been lurking around the forums for a couple of weeks. I’m a jack of all trades and master of a few, and do web development and computer stuff more as a hobby than anything else, but I do occasionally get paid for it. My main professional involvement is in healthcare, and in another life I was a physicist, hence my handle smiley.

I’ve been building website for some time now with HTML/CSS, Wordpress, and Drupal, and others to a smaller extent. I am self taught in all things web and computer related.

I’ve built a few MODx sites on my local environment as I learn, but I recently published my first MODx site online. It’s a simple site built on an opensource template from OSWD called Zen Template.

I still have some work to do on it, and will be adding more features and functionality. I’m also in the process of getting a second MODx site ready for release in the next week or so.

I’m on twitter as @einsteinsboi (and I see some familiar names here) and you’ll find me on other places on the web too by that handle, and I’ll be posting here too. Looking forward to learning and sharing more!

Thank kongodo and Treigh for the warm welcomes!

I was just looking around the forums and realized that the Zenlike template was already ported to MODx, and I did all that work porting it myself... grin. But it was a great learning experience and I look forward to working more with MODx!

Welcome to the community and great job with the site. grin grin
I like that you have a custom look for your captcha in the contact form, it looks much better than the default. How did you do that? wink

PS: Your blog covers Drupal very well (I like the recent how-to series), will you be posting MODx articles as well? I hope so wink

Thanks Shane! For the Captcha, I used the Better Veriword Captcha Display found here http://modxcms.com/extras.html?view=package/view&package=43

This was my first live MODx site and I loved how easy it was to take a template and build my site into it. I’m really enjoying working with and learning MODx and working on a few more sites as I learn more. And yes, I’m planning a how-to series on MODx for my blog, it will be the next series after the Drupal one and will be aimed at the newbie, since I’m just out of newbie stage myself. Should be up in the next week or so.

Thanks again, and see you on Twitter!

That is great, the more people writing about MODx the better. I think that this is a criteria used to measure the popularity of a project, how many people are blogging about it.

I am in the process of finishing up my MODx development blog but got caught up with some projects. I will try to get a new post tonight but i am still making some design decisions. rolleyes
