Top Synergy Rewrite

Hello,

Firstly, I’m glad to become a part of such a vigorous, professional, and coherent community; none of which can be taken for granted.

After two years of fantasies and several months of research, I’ve reached the point of no return by taking upon myself to rewrite my 5-year old Top Synergy Group websites with MODx.

I will start off by converting our http://famous-relationships.topsynergy.com/"" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Famous Relationships subdomain from a backoffice page-generation/FTP upload site into a database and PHP driven application.

This subdomain hosts about 7K daily visitors, considered to be an authority site among the spiritual/astrological community, includes portfolio of about 3,700 famous people and about 50K static pages. It resides on a dedicated IIS with PHP, MySQL, and ISAPI-Rewrite installed.

My research for the right framework was extensive and exhaustive, and I’ll be happy to detail my motives for identifying MODx as the most probable candidate in exchange for specific questions.

One of the key factors for selecting MODx is this community. I count on you guys to help me to surf through numerous challenges that are awaiting ahead.

Best of days to you all.

I can’t get the link to work.

The correct link: http://famous-relationships.topsynergy.com/ The original has some extra http:// tags.

Invaluable information. The first topic has shown that the preferred method should be to manage data storage and retrival in external tables to the MDOX’s document tables; the second is a hot tip on how to wrap MyPHPEdit within MODx. I originally had PHPRunner in mind but this one may be a cool free solution as well.

I’m still in a bind re how to enable visitor comments on our pages, but we’ll cross that bridge when we’ll get to it:)

I think that the issue of exceeding the 5K document limit isn’t an issue here because there will be only around 100 document that will serve as shells for all the celebrities.

Thank you so much for taking the time to guide me away from trouble and onto success.
