I have this habit of re-designing my own site every December. Work slows down a bit and all of the notes that I’ve kept over the year pile up and beg to be worked on. I forgot about posting the changes on MODx until now.

With the current re-design I wanted to keep the look straight-forward and elegant, not cluttered. I have always built my site with my customers in mind, not other designers. I also wanted a new gallery. The one I decided on is pretty easy to implement. The last thing I wanted to do was put my Articles, News and Blog under the section of Journal, while keeping them separate.

Also, I have published two newsletters since the re-design and the response has been great. The newsletters look exactly like the site (for the most part). Sign-up and shoot me an email and I’ll send you the latest newsletter.

Another project should be posted next week.

    Enjoy!

Nice. I like the 3 col design and it is friendly looking so it should be inviting tot he clients. Did you use a grid framework?

Thanks. I didn’t use a grid, just a bunch of drawings in my notebook and some pretty simple code. The only real trick is to make certain the floats work properly in IE6. (I don’t know bout you but I still get 11% of visitors using that browser.)

I have decided to change the left side menu on the content page. Too much info so I created an accordian menu using Ditto instead of Wayfinder. Anyone who can figure out how to add an ’active’ class to Ditto let me know.
            Thanks.
