I’ve just released my new site: http://www.mediaguy.eu

It will be a site where I have a showcase with work I have done and I also will try to start post interesting blog articles about web related stuff.
I did try to use a bit of jQuery to learn to use it and it worked out pretty nice. Also did I try the combine the snippets in a nice interface with ManagerManager. One of the examples is that I can use MaxiGallery in the manager to manage the images for the showcase.

I still need to fix the "archives", somehow ditto doesn’t filter the right things! And I also need to make a contact page (doh, still got no time for it tongue)

What do you guys think about it?

        Hi MediaGuy,

it’s a nice, well build site, but one thing that irritates me...it’s too much orange. i mean not the orange in general, but there’s almost no structure ( colourwise ) for the different areas of your site, so it appears a bit unorganised and distracts the viewer...just my personal impression...otherwise it’s great wink Oranje!

        cheers, j

          Thanks sharkbait!

I already had the idea to change the blocks on the bottom, maybe separate them from the main content and change the color of the blocks.

it probably doesn’t need much change to create a different feeling, maybe just play around with some background-colors ( or slightly transparent pngs ) and see what happens smiley

*uuuuuh, the forum appears to be very slow for me today, it loads forever....

What do you think about this change? Still need to optimise it for IE (starting to hate IE while I loved it for years tongue).

I changed the colors in the sidebar and I placed the blocks in the bottom to a place underneath the footer and gave it other colors and a transparant background.

You should have the news content in a black background like the poll here: http://www.mediaguy.eu/blog/new-site-launched.html
or make the text white... This color will look different from screen to screen and make the black hard to read for some.

Rounded corners would be awesome to this!!

                I get javascript error in IE7 for the page. Missing " ; " ?

The hover effects should all be like for the poll buttons here: http://www.mediaguy.eu/blog/new-site-launched.html

                But nice work!  smiley
