I do all kinds of photography (with a little web design as well) and one of the areas for income is doing real estate photography.

The market is changing with our lurching economy so I am building a fresh site to promote this area of my business. I created a CSS sprite and used jquery for a little eye candy on the top navigation. I then had to get Jquery, Mootools and MaxiGallery to play together. I had great help here with this. I tried several different scripts but went with Fancybox which runs via Jquery. It works nicely and has a good visual flourish without looking overdone. Some design elements look better in non IE browsers but it seems to be OK so far.

I also am using Wayfinder for my side navigation where I will add blog like posts on the technology and technique of the industry. I have more content on the way. I also plan on building some kind of register/password system so that clients can download zipped folders containing the images I shoot for them. I uploaded a bunch of photos to get started but I need to do more editing with the galleries.

The site can be checked out at: http://www.seattlerealestatephotography.com/

I was surprised that this URL was available as it comprises the first three search engine words I could think of. Hopefully I will get a good Google ranking at some point down the road.

Thanks! I guess thats one link I never clicked on. I have no idea where that p came from...

My main photography and design sites are looking old and outdated and in dire need of the MODx "treatment"...

I think you might be right. I have noticed that sites owned by designers seem to like smaller type. I think this topic has been blogged about even.

I will try bumping up the paragraph text size just a bit...

After some fiddling around the Fancybox gallery will no work in IE (6 or 7). The better, well behaved browsers do work though. Any ideas?

I am sort of at the wall on this...
