I co-write for hackerblog.net
I usually use MODx but, since other people were going to be using it and I had never tried it I used wordpress... a bad idea...
Ive done a blitzkrieg of converting the blog from wordpress to the vastly superior cms of MODx.
I still have some stuff to work out.. I just havnt gotten around to everything yet... tags and categories havnt been touched, their is some issue with pagenation, and I should throw captcha on comments... but its working like it should and I just made my first actual post on my blog running off of a new shiny cms.
(the modx wordpess archive reflect is dead sexy)
hacker blog
"Pages" header cuts in IE7 so I can only see half the text. This is coool somebody who goes from
wordpress to modx ---> That’s a true hacker!!

JoCo for comment moderation (a module here) rocks. Use that for sure.

I got categories, pub date formating, author (i should make a author page w/ a ditto to filter for author..) working.
I still have a lot of fundamental on page seo to do. Besides adding tags, I just need to go through the site and make sure all the code verifies and is working well.
There was a mess of redirects I needed to add. When adding a 301 to the .htaccess it loaded the site like website.com/newurl?q=oldurl it wouldnt load the content on that page either. Turned out that MODx’s weblink was all I needed.
mrhaw: thanks, ill have to ie test the whole thing :’(
rthrash: thats a lot of help since I was planning on just using jot w/ captcha...
I have a nice piece of jot code that counts the comments for preview.. ill have to figure that out to work on JoCo and Categories.
