Put {{ProjectOverviewPanel}} in the docs content area and save! Then modify your test template so it has [*content*] in body... You
should go through the beginners guide.
Editor to use: none
and check Resources ---> Manage resources ---> Chunks
that ProjectOverviewPanel is there correct spelled.
Then also fill in something in the new documents TV fields.
Or there is nothing to output.
Had to put this to one side for the minute, but will be picking up the slack again from next week onwards.
I managed to create a template for the outer parts of the site, along with chunks for the top banner images, the right side panel and the footer content.
I also got a nav bar working using my own css styles for the li code based on the beginner’s guide I followed.
The one thing I couldn’t get working though actually the differing content in each page.
Are there any really good guides out there on how to create different content (diff divs, images etc) for different pages, but all using the same template?
Cheers.
I think that wiki article makes things sounds much more complicated then what it’s actually is, but in modx you always have more then one way of doing things...
anyhow, this is how I usually do it:
create a single template, for the areas that changing use TVs instead of chunks, ie [*LeftSidebar*] and [*RightSidebar*], then use the needed chunks in those TVs per page, so in your homepage [*sidebar*] I’ll have {{homeSidebarChunk}} with the html content and in the Blog pages I’ll have {{blogSidebarChunk}} in the TV...
