Well, I took the dive and began to port over a static html site I created. I think for the most part, it has turned out well.. there are a few things I cannot figure out, so maybe I will need some help with those.

Anyway, the ported site is http://www.culinaryvegetableinstitute.com/cvi_cms.

Any tips, comments, etc is welcomed!!

I’d love to hear how you found the process? I am looking at creatign a video tutorial for static to modx conversions and want to help with any problems folks have encountered.

Your sites look good. It seems that there is one hiccup with the background surrounding the images on the main page.

Please feel free to post your issues in the appropriate forums.
      Cheers,

        Good job moto!

My only comment is on the events page. I find the wine tasting menu to be a really long scroll. If you made it wider like in the static one then it wouldn’t be too long. But that’s just me. Good job!

I am trying to make it an accordion, but can’t get the animated action to work.

            Thanks for the comments laugh

I found the process pretty simple, once I got the basics down. I had completely created the static site before moving to ModX, as it wasn’t in the plans at all. Once, I decided to, however, I went ahead and got the layout created first. The biggest hiccup was the Wayfinder menu, but it was more a case of my CSS than anything (thanks to Kongondo laugh).

I am still working out why an accordion doesn’t work, but that’s really about it. I messed with eForm and got it to work with no problems.

              So far, so good!
