This site was a nice project and still is.

its set up as a magazine with stories and columns options to mail a author and send the page to a friend.
we used PHx and Directresize, Maxigallery and ditto, wayfinder is there and some custom snippets.
the image text is auto generatesd using a changed version of gtext.

full css and xhtml

in the future there will be a kind of "create your own printed magazine" option
you can add articles etc to a kind of shopping card . the pages will be converted to pdf with cover en glossery pages and then mailed to the web master who will print the pdf on a3 folded to a4. and then send out in a nice envelope to the webvisitor who ordered the magazine.

the site is meant for women as you can see by the colors. its all in Dutch
its a Christian magazine for women

Very feminine!
Not sure about the scrollbar for the main content area.
For me it spoils the soft look of the site.

scrollbar was intended to be styled using js but it does not work to well together or with my html/css

Have you tried any of the JQuery plugins for the scrollbar?

well, for IE you can use proprietary CSS to style scrollbars... I’m not a big fan of it, but hey, client is king

Can you elaborate about gtext? I tried googling, but found nothing. I think you should make some gtext images transparent, so they can flow in nicely with the background pic. That’s one of the few instances where I’d recommend SIFR: antialiasing over background-images works a treat that way. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scalable_Inman_Flash_Replacement

sifr needs a flash thing and is sirf also usable as background image in a div?

No, but you can publish a transparent SWF (wmode = transparent) and put it over whatever html element you like.

I was going to make a comment about the scrollbar also, it’s being positioned outside of the wrap area, appears to lineup to the right of the box rather than in the box, if that makes sense?
IT does this in both firefox and IE.
Jquery scroll bars was mentioned, here was a demo link:
http://kelvinluck.com/assets/jquery/jScrollPane/examples.html

And the plugin’s homepage:
http://plugins.jquery.com/project/jScrollPane
Might be worth checking out I’ve used kelvin’s jQuery stylesheet switcher and that worked great!

the scrollbar was ment to be outside the content area

thanks for the links
