    Hi Guys,

Probably not the best place to put this but it is about my site...

What is the best way to migrate and move my whole site to another server - I’m changing my hosting provider and want to make the move as easy as possible...? Is it easy to do.. I’m guessing you copy all files needed...just a bit unsure how to copy the database files across!?

    Any help would be great!

    Best Regards,

    Mat

Certainly copy all files. You could use ModBak to do zip all files together.

Go to Tools>Backup to copy the SQL to a file. ModBak does this, but better do it twice.

      Here is the official documentation:

        Thanks wordcooper,

Unfortunately I get the error message as mentioned in the support forum - and I don’t really know how to continue...

and the backuz zip file isn’t created either.

        any other ideas?

Is my only option to manually do it all using the instructions as mentioned in the "howto"...

If so I’ll get on with it!!

        Cheers

I was talking about two different backups. The backup under Tools is built-in and saves an SQL file very nicely.

I also get an error with ModBak, but it does save the Zip file to the folder. It may be that your files are too big for it. I noticed that sometimes. ModBak saves every single file on the site. It might be easier just to copy them yourself.

if you have access to phpmyadmin, i would just export the database that way.
