Well, we’ve been using ModX now for almost a year...it’s amazing! We stumbled upon ModX by accident and haven’t looked back. In the last 9 months we’ve designed 15-20 websites around ModX. It’s such a great tool. Anyway, after so long without a website, we finally decided to do it. We’re glad we did. Our new site is running the latest version of ModX with many trimmings, like:

    Wayfinder
    eForm
    Ditto
    Ultimate Parent
    tons of chunks and TV’s

Thanks to the forums for helping me learn ModX. I’ve leaned on many people like RThrash, OpenGeek, ganeshXL, DavidM, Dimmy, Doze, Sottwell, dev_cw, banal, sorry if I’ve forgotten some of you. You’ve all been great -- Very patient to say the least. We actually just brought on two developers that we have learning the ins and outs of ModX. They were too new to help on our own site, but when they’re finished digging around in the guts of ModX we think we’ll have quite the competitive edge.

Finally our website: Utah Web Design (Sorry, we couldn’t help ourselves)
It is in a live development and we’ve already made several changes in the last week due to comments. There are a few bugs in IE6 that we are aware of and working to fix. Please feel free to let us know of any more that you may find.

      Slick, and good luck.

Can you share that slideshow in the #featured div with us?

That is a very nice site. Well done. There are several interesting things to get distracted with, like the drawings of the team members. Great site.

Not only do they have web-designers in Utah, but Rilke-readers too! (j/k)

          Very nice site, kudos.

Just one tiny suggestion: Make the orange bar = 100% of the browser width.

Thanks for the comments. We really appreciate you taking the time to look and tell us. desi9n is very small, half of our "employees" are actually independent contractors, but we love Paul, Eran, and Trent so much they let us put their images on our site. Despite being such a small firm we look forward to big things.

@fruitwerks: Thank you. That slideshow is a mootools driven slideshow called smoothslideshow, by JonDesign. smoothgallery.jondesign.net

@dev_cw: Very much appreciated. Yeah, those drawings were fun to do. I sat down and drew them in about 5-10 mins and the guys thought it was funny and so we left them in there.

@ganeshXL: Thank you. I guess the orange bar was an oversight. We’ll get right on it. How big is your screen anyway?  wink

@sinbad: Thanks for noticing our gallery, but no it wasn’t done by EZfaq. Never heard of it. Actually, it’s a plain jane version of the mootools accordion that we jazzed up a bit. We love mootools, plus, it works so well with ModX.

Hmm there was nothing like that when I went looking for one. I have moved away from mootools completely. Maybe it only needs a few things and can be fairly slim. I will check it out. Thanks!

Thank you everyone for the comments.

@sharkbait: Thanks. But, no we didn’t use smoothgallery for Meet the Players. We used a modified version of the fx.slide script from mootools called noobslide.

@fruitwerks: You bet. Smoothgallery is one of our staple slideshows. It’s just too easy to use. Why did you go away from mootools? Was it just not working out for you?

I moved away from moo because when I was deploying everything on my site, I only used it for one or two things and for those things, I needed almost the full moo package. So my page was bloated with js just from that, then I had a slideshow that was far simpler that the one you use, and it had it’s own js as well, then I needed something for lightbox type stuff, nothing good at the time, and support for moo is really lame. before then I had tried jquery + prototype + scriptaculous, the jquery stuff performed horribly and those together were bloated as well.

I do not recall what exactly I was using when my server crashed, but it was fairly lightweight. Since I had to start over from nothing but a google cache, I decided to change up a few things. I went with lytebox and got rid of the little slideshow that was self contained, it would still throw out errors and it was a final revision with no author support. No need to post my link, but google sweet skies and you can find it very easily. I think you might have even been there before. I am fairly happy with lytebox since I got it working properly in firefox 2.0.12+ and right now I do not need anything else fancy...
