Hello Everyone,
Sorry it’s taken me a day or so to respond to your questions and comments. We’ve been swamped here in the office.
@ sinbad: Thanks! Glad to hear you’re a user (the good kind).
@ bunk: Thanks, hope you enjoy it!
@ opengeek: Thanks for the kind words. It seems like I’m always finding new or easier ways to do something in MODx - and practically anything can be done within the CMS. As I’ve already said, our vice president the marketeer is very excited about the extensive control and flexibility MODx offers.
@ plavet, dev_cw: Thanks!
@ Ganesh: Nice to talk to you again. We decided (through lack of a timely decision) to go about the migration on our own. We figured we know enough about SEO to take care of the important stuff...but we won’t know for sure for a few months at least...
I put together some simple PHP code for the 301s. So far it hasn’t appeared to hurt us but we really need more time before we can tell.
Regarding performance, we serve around 10,000 pageviews a day, and over 30 million a year. We have 3 dedicated load-balanced servers running Red Hat, Apache 1.3, PHP 4.4, and MySQL 4.1 (our sys admin would love if MODx supported PostgreSQL).
We’ve created over 350 documents in MODx with more to come.
The execs have been very pleased with the performance of MODx’s page loading so far.
@ BobRay: Thanks for the kind words on the site and editor.
@ smashingred: Glad to contribute.
@ wordcooper: Thanks for pointing this out; will take care of this asap.
