Well, if you haven’t guessed already, my name is Michael. Not sure how you could miss that unless you are blindly clicking on posts.. Are you? Haha ok jokes aside, I’ve been playing with MODx for a few months now and I’m really just now getting the hang of it. I’ve asked for help a few times on these forums and each time I got it, usually same day. I’ve solved quite a few problems using the help of the community and MODx developers, so for that a thank you for making my site possible.
Well, as for my website I put together DarkOddity.Com as a little corner of the web just for me, I mean come on, what personal website isn’t just for the owner! Well I’ve spent a lot of time trying to figure out how I wanted to lay it out, switching content management systems (about 3-4x) between MODx, Wordpress and some other piece of junk I purged from my memory after realizing it wasn’t worth much at all.
Well, a theme for MODx finally came out that I liked, JWC3. I modified it a bit and really enjoy it, but I do plan on replacing it with something severely customized in the future (And I’ll probrably need to hire a web developer for this, so if you are one lend me a hand with some research and let me know what you would charge for a custom personal website.) I’ve done my best to make adding content to my site a breeze through front-end posting using newspublisher, wayfinder to create menus on the pages, and photo galleries using MaxiGallery. As far as the layout of the site, and the functionality of the site is concerned it is complete. The only thing I am lacking now is content, granted I do have content, there isn’t much to warrant someone actually being interested in visiting. This is something I will take care of at a later date.
