    Hi there,

We’ve recently completed our new website using Modx and I couldn’t be happier to have used ModX to do it with.

    http://www.axisanimation.com

The Axis website team consisted of Richard, Stu, Peter, and Anke who dealt with the design, copy, content and webhosting and myself who basically jumped into the deep end of the modx code and set about getting to do what was needed.
Oh and Alan White took our designs and sculpted the CSS into it’s initial shape (http://www.azcazandco.com/)

The modx site you see here is has underwent a lot of changes from original shape. We’re using a custom CMS since there is a lot of secondary data tied into the articles using TV’s and custom MySQL tables. There’s a work article engine, a vacancy engine and (still in development) a news engine. All 3 share the same common code but each has it’s own TV’s and behaviours. It’s still a little rough around the edges (cms wise) but we’re able to manage the content quite easily.

The image rotator and movie player are the JW FLV player and image rotator. We initially tried MaxiGallery (and we still use it to manage the images and movies) but we dropped that as soon as we realised that we could feed RSS into the chunks which drive the the JW flash items and have a nicer presentational impact of the work on the site.

I’d like to thank the Modx Community for the support and replies which eventually lead to this site being live. We’ve got even more features and plans for the site so expect it to change!!!

    Comments and feedback welcome wink

    Cheers

Nice site, one to show that MODx is quite far from another YAPS smiley

One odd thing I noticed was the copyright notice at the bottom: it’s made with a background CSS image, but why? You should consider replacing it for text or getting a better quality image, as the current one looks quite bad...

Overall, great site, keep up the good work!

There is some solid 3d work there!

Another great addition to "built on modx" smiley

Thanks for the replies folks! We’ll be revising the site in the new year to add the features which didn’t make it into this version. At the same time carrying out some optimisations and so on.

If you experience any slow playback or speeds please let us know what connection speed you have and your locale/country. It’s not the most dial-up friendly site as you can imagine. A bandwidth measuring script/snippet for modx which can dictate if the user gets high or low res flash movies was something I wanted to start work on at some point. That and the long list of extra features. wink

            Cheers
