My first MODx project

Hello,

I am new to MODx and CMS/CMF. Here is my first project for some friends of mine

http://www.normal-sls.de

Greets from Switzerland
Albi

I really like the design and straightforward presentation. Clean and well done.

Hey, that’s a nice looking site. How did you get that cool border on the images?

One detail that I notice, it doesn’t bother me personally but I am sure others will notice, is the slight delay while loading the navigation images during rollover.

Thanks for sharing

thank you.

the images are between linktags. and the cssstyle of the link is:

i still try to fix this delay problem.

Oh, it is a background image. Nice idea. I thought it was a border. Thanks

Nice site there Albi.

To fix the delay, use the "sliding doors" technique. search for the term on google for more info.

best regards.

yes that would be the next thing i try. know this technique. but i tried to load the hoverimages in a div with width and height 0px

hi

very nice site! great job! I just wonder how did you made this small gallery http://www.normal-sls.de/laden.html ?
Its simply great, and I havent seen anything like it yet, again great site!

thanks for the compliments.

i used remooz
http://digitarald.de/playground/remooz.html

it is nice and free. a german developer i used to chat with. for using it with modx i tweaked maxigallery. later when my friend will post an image on the blog, the same effect will appear.

here is some alternative to remooz but non free for commercial use
http://vikjavev.no/highslide/

with remooz and highslide i had some rendering trouble in firefox mac. the left menu column should be fixed and only the content should scroll. but firefox mac had massive rendering problems in combination with remooz or highslide. thought it would be cool when some text and headerimages scroll over the light grey gradient at the top. but someday i had to make a decision to go on with the project and killed the fixed menu. whenever firefox will render it clean i will change the css styles back to fixed.

great links ! Thanks !
