Nice clean design. Looks very well thought out and very professional. Great job! Did you use MaxiGallery for the product listings?

Now for the bad news sad

The images are too large. You need to compress them using some form of jpg compression. The index main image is nearly 160KB which will take around 45 seconds to download on a 56Kb modem. That is way too long. There is no reason why you shouldn’t be able to get that image down to around 45 to 50 KB. If you are able to reduce each image by 2/3 you would have a really awesome sight.

      See your speed report below:
      http://www.websiteoptimization.com/services/analyze/wso.php?url=http://hastingsholsters.com/

Remember, all high speed internet has done is made people less patient with downloads and not more tolerant of uncompressed image wait times. We’ll wait for video but not for simple web pages.

That is a very nice site. Well done capturing the old west feeling with the art and the color scheme. Some nice products as well with some nice leather work.

How did you get the preview thumbnail for the next/prev links? I like that feature.

thanks for all the great feedback! regarding how the product navigation is handled, it’s actually a custom snippet that i wrote for this site.
