acelbisa.com : official site of Philippine-based singer/songwriter Acel

Hi!

Check out: http://www.acelbisa.com

Acel (with the "a" pronounced like the "a" in "gazelle"), is a Philippine-based singer/songwriter. After a whirlwind run of two successful multi-awarded bands, she’s launching a new set of her music, this time as a solo artist.

The site is built on MODx. However this MODx version was hacked a bit to accomodate the flash music player in the frameset. Hence, the default "index.php" was renamed to "front.php" to accomodate the frameset. This was deliberate so the music could seamlessly play while one browses through the website. We didn’t want to use pop-ups.

Just click on the "Now Playing" link on the top-right corner. We’ve made all her tracks available as 98%-full-length preview tracks freely available.

Enjoy!

Oh and feel free to send in your suggestions and ideas on how to make the site more fun!

Robot already mentioned the font-typography design issues in another forum. Thanks Robot - we’re working on it.

This is a great example. I’ve just been asked to do a site for an upcoming alternative jazz band who want something similar, and am hoping to use MODx for it. I like the jukebox player - what did you use?

thanks! I used Jeroen Wijering’s MP3 PLAYER. Its awesome! Here’s the link. Jeoren’s got an flv player in there as well that I’m using.

It integrates with Modx real well.

Thats a really nice site. The mp3 player is a cool feature and making it in a frame is a good idea to keep it playing while you navigate. Nice job.
