    http://www.babyheart.org

    Just launched this pro-bono site for International Children’s Heart Foundation. This is a complete relaunch of the original site i built a few years ago and a true test of modx flexibilty. modx accommodated every single customization without sacrificing ANY design or architecture. modx is truly incredible.

    modx recognition will be added to the footer later this week.

    would love any feedback.

        Hi, your post came in so timely smiley
        I have just committed myself to do a pro-bono site that helps supporting children education in the poorest rural areas of China. I was going to recommend Modx to the founder of the fundation, your site definately will give me lots of idea, thus allowing me to give suggestions, advices to them.

        Very clean and nice site. Keep up the wonderful work smiley

        By the way, there is a 2px white gap in the bottom of footer in Safari, if I enlarge fonsize in Firefox, the gap appears too. I think you need to reduce padding bottom somewhere in the footer so that the rounded corner bottom. Better yet, move the rounded background image to :

        div#container_footer {
        backgroun: url(roundedbg.gif) no-repeat left bottom
        height: /*remove height value, let the padding in p controls the height */
        }

        and create a childen p class for div#container_footer, then wrap the footer texts inside like so

        div#container_footer p {padding: 10px 20px /*for example*/; fontsize: 8px;}

        <div id="container_footer">
        <p>footer content here</p>
        </div>

        this way you won’t need to worry about the white gap no matter how a user enlarge the fontsize in her browser.

            I agree. A very nice site. The dynamic link-colors (matching the header image) are a nice touch, too.

            On some pages, I noticed your images are being resized via HTML (width + height attr. not matching actual jpg dimensions), e.g. on http://www.babyheart.org/student_opportunities/medical-mission-trips/
            I’d either resize the images in Photoshop, or use the real dimensions in HTML, otherwise the pics look a bit strange/jagged...

              yes, i agree. these are images that the client is uploading themselves. i have taught them how to resize them before upload, but unfortunately they don’t get it right all the time. wsywyg editors are just enough to be dangerous sometimes smiley
