This one has been live for a few weeks but it’s been constantly tweaked and refined.. Still a bit left to do on it, however now that some of the dust has settled I’d like to post here and see what everyone thinks!

Aussie Vineyards is a winery based in QLD Australia that sources wine throughout the country. They’ve recently become one of Australia’s largest wine exporters too. I do know that there is a Aussie Vineyards presence in the US, especially in the NASCAR and Champ Car series, but I’m not involved with these guys directly.

MODx 0.9.6 using mostly standard snippets including Ditto, AjaxSearch, etc. Design/Template designed by me and is valid XHTML/CSS, and most of the photography is my work too - which means lots of wine bottles lying around the place waiting to be consumed laugh

    Hope you like it!

        Thanks laugh
I just realised that for those of you who don’t have flash installed, the headings are going to look a little wierd. This is because I’m using SIFr for heading replacement. Might tweak the styles some more smiley

Very well done site indeed. If I were the proprietors of the fine Au brand, I’d pack up a few cases of goods and send them to the folks that made their website CMS possible. smiley Please! (In all seriousness, very well done. And no, I’d never turn down a shipment like that!)

Haha! If I had an opportunity to request something like that I certainly would - not like they have a shortage of it, that’s for sure!!.. For now, the best I could do is nominate modx on the packtpub website (in Ryan’s footer & on the front page of Modx for those of you who are wondering what I’m talking about! smiley )

The menus with the fancy mootools effects look very classy.

One thing I noticed is that the ’wine club membership signup’ form doesn’t appear to be working in firefox and safari. Is anyone else having this problem?

              Still, job well done.

Yeah, but in IE too...maybe that’s one of things that is being

                tweaked and refined..

                All the best,

The home page of the website is impressive and the color balance, perfect. The site degrade well w/o styles and is valid XHTML 1.0 Strict, although NOT CSS valid and there are some errors in javascripts.

Personally it would dedicate a little more time to correct the CSS/Javascript errors and to optimize the weight of the page, 198Kb is a little too much for my taste, especially when there is 9Kb of text against 65Kb of scripts, 22Kb of CSS and 92Kb of images.
