Hi there,
Our first Modx site is online ...
http://www.pcvo-gent.net
It is mainly in Dutch but some English and french pages must be added. It is not necessary to have all pages in english ...
So for the people who don’t understand dutch (which are quite a few ;-)
PCVO Ghent is a school for adults that want to follow evening courses: 14 foreign languages, ICT, Dutch and also Economics and some other courses. It is one of the biggest educational centers for evening courses in Belgium (appr. 14000 students), and the challenge was obviously to create a transparent and easy-to-browse structure for all the different areas.
Modx and the tree structure + templating possibilities were a big advantage for this!!
I have to admit that it took some time to get the TV’s, snippets, chunks etc organised and set up, but once you get the hang of it, it is quite amazing! Also the possibility of creating your own php snippets was something that gave us the extra thing in comparison to other cms’s
for example dutch courses level 1:
http://www.pcvo-gent.net/index.php?id=384
the data for the courses comes from another table in the modx_ database, and is separate from the other content. A simple excel provides the data for this table.
For the rest we used: ditto, wayfinder, eform (with dynamic &to to pull the email addres from tvEmail in a document), Flexsearchform, Listchild , Googlemap
Many thanks and cheers for all the founders and developers of this great cms + thanks to all in this community for the help and support in topics!
