Old Salem

Just about tied up working on www.oldsalem.org .

Some snippets I used include:

getField (to find out what a parents certain TV is set to)

sectionRoots (for the secondary menu)

Kalender (for the calendar!?? What really Taff, naa you must be joking, you sure you didn’t use it for image manipulation)

And from the core setup I used Wayfinder, eform and AjaxSearch.

Thanks to all the authors of these snippets for their work. The client is over the moon not least with

we’ve been able to go through and put a majority of items in, as well as get around in the CMS pretty well. Very intuitive.

Hats off to you! That is a tight looking site. Very engaging. The little flash timeline is cool too.

Thanks, I will pass that on to the people who designed it. The original template was done with dotNetNuke but three people jumped out at the last minute. I said I would convert it and use a different system (ModX). I was amazed at how quick such a complicated template could be converted for use with ModX...Makes me shudder at the amount of time I spent with typoscript. Also the client is happy with simplicity of the backend...something else lacking with Typo3 imo.

I’m converted to ModX.

This site is getting over 210K hits monthly now. We didn’t expect this many, and have had to dobule the allowed bandwidth on a monthly basis.
