    Hello everyone,

    my first MODx powered website went online just a few minutes ago:

    http://www.ab-m.de

    It was quite a lot of work getting to know MODx and putting together this quite big site but finally I am very happy with the result smiley

    I would like to say a big "Thank You" to the MODx Developers for their nice work–MODx is such a great tool!

    Thanks,
    Bogdan

        Yes that would be the best thing but there is another company in charge for the store.
        By the way: I programmed a little web shop based on MODx:

        http://ping.thomas-daily.com/en/pdf-shop

        I was very happy about the fact that MODx is not putting any boulders into my way when developing my own PHP code smiley

          Care to share your technique for completing the Multi-Language on this site?

            I did a variant of the "Make Multi Lingual Site" How To found on http://wiki.modxcms.com/index.php/Make_Multi_Lingual_Site.

            First thing: my Document Tree looks like this (see attached image).
            This way I can get the language by:
            // getLang
            $ultimateParentID=$modx->runSnippet("UltimateParent");
            $ultimateParent=$modx->getDocument($ultimateParentID);
            return($ultimateParent["alias"]);

            Navigation is build by:
            [!Wayfinder? &startId=`[[UltimateParent]]`!]

            Second thing: I made an summary of all relevant document ids:
            $home["de"]=1;
            $home["en"]=32;

            $context["de"]=11;
            $context["en"]=53;

            $metaTags["de"]=57;
            $metaTags["en"]=56;

            $metaNav["de"]=7;
            $metaNav["en"]=49;
            ...

            Setting this IDs allows me later on to get the desired documents without bothering what language is selected.
            Examples:
            $modx->setPlaceholder('homeURL', $modx->makeUrl(intval($home[$lang])));
            ...
            $modx->setPlaceholder('aktuellesID', $aktuelles[$lang]);
            ...

            or
            [!Ditto? &tpl=`dittoAktuelles` &startID=`[+aktuellesID+]` &summarize=`6` &displayArchive=`0` &sortBy=`alias`!]

            Of course there are a few more things to take care of so that the multi lingual site runs smoothly. But these are the most important steps.

            I hope this helps you smiley

              That was a lot more detail than I was expecting you to post. THANK YOU!!!

              I ran through that wiki article a week ago and I wasn’t too happy with how much manual work had to be done. Can’t wait to check out your suggestions here.
