Content approach question

New to Modx. Downloaded Revolution yesterday and had my first couple pages up and running within a few hours..

I created a set of templates that I usually use as templates. I have the usual footer, header, etc that I’ve used chunks for. All works well.

My question is: what technique to you suggest to store and display "body" chunks of content.. Most of my body templates have left or right bars, sometimes variable columns all in the same body area. Take for instance, if on a page you create has the "main content" from the resource one can assign that to your "main content". Now I need to fill up the left had bar with other chunks of content. If I have three content elements that I want to display on that left bar, what technique should I use. Chunks or something else. I would prefer that it be changable by non-techies if possible.

Sorry for the "it’s obvious" question but I saw lots of template help but little on the manner to fill in content.

I tried to implement this on Rev 2.0.0-pl Right now it is not working. The TV options are slightly different then in this doc.. http://wiki.modxcms.com/index.php/Create_TV-Based_Chunks Plus I only need a single chunk selected so I used the radio button option. In getChunks snippet there is still a reference to the parser snippet. Should I remove that?

Is there a way (debug?) to see what is actually happening. Once I can get this to work, it is exactly what I need.
