After working with modx since nearly a year now, I have managed to redesign my site and port it from joomla to my favorite CMS modx wink

    Link: www.madeyourweb.com (german)

On the frontpage is a lot of mootools stuff, the 3 featured projects and the switch to the core values. (klick on the bar on the upper right of the 3 images). Also the "nach oben" ("to top") link on the lower right is a moo function (as on the AGB page, click on the anchors...).

The goal of the site is to present my work and the company for webdesign and content management business.

See also the sitemap, which is totally driven by Wayfinder (unordered list output) and pure CSS (lot of work till it fit with this structure wink ).

The menu on the top is a simple css hover menu, for the bad browsers from Redmond with a bit of JS. But also functional without JS (also the frontpage).

Tested with IE5-7,FF,Opera,Safari (feedback with other browsers welcome!). Will not work in IE5.2./MAC, perhaps I´ll add an additional stylesheet for this, but perhaps... not laugh

    So long, feedback appreciated smiley

    Regards,
    Marc

edit: built with 0.95RC2, that is more than a candidate and - in comparison to joomla - not less than a 1.5 stable laugh

Nice site - very clean! I like the yellow/grey/white colour scheme and the oversize <h*>s.

One small glitch over here (Safari 2.0.4/FF 2.0) - in the navigation drop down named ’Leistungen’ the link ’Content Management System’ is wrapping to 2 lines, but the (line-?)height does not seem to be quite large enough, so it is disappearing under the link ’Suchmaschinenoptimierung’.

If I could change one thing it would be to make the search a little more prominent - it sits below the viewable area of my browser window on initial view, but I don’t think it detracts too much from it.

          @banzai: Thx wink

@ram: Safari issue should be fixed now. The search... well, usually I would agree, but on this site the search isn´t that important (Nearly 200K visitors did about 100 searches in 1,5 years...) . The bigger challenge was to place it always on the bottom via CSS, so it´s more a style element than a functionality wink

Thank you both for your comments,
          Marc

Yes, very nice looking site! Congratulations!

The sitemap looks very nice. I would suggest to put "back to top" link to the paragraphs in AGB page.. Anyways, I like your site alot. Have you tried to use slimbox in maxigallery? or will it break some other mootools things or something?

                Hi you both,

Have you tried to use slimbox in maxigallery?
. Erm, what do you mean? The "usual Slimbox gallery" with preloading etc.? Should work.... Perhaps you have to wait till the page gets fully loaded.

I would suggest to put "back to top" link to the paragraphs in AGB page.

                Good idea, will do that...

thx, mootools are a thing to be considered integrating in modx (why not as it´s already needed for QE, but the new version is much cooler) smiley

I mean embedtype=`slimbox`. Currently you are using Lightbox v2 which uses prototype + scriptaculous, so that’s 160kb+ of javascript libs.. The newest versions of MaxiGallery has now slimbox as an option too. It’s just the same as Lightbox v2, but totally rewritten using MooTools and is about 7kb in size. It only needs certain mootools modules and I don’t know what happens when you include two different mootools libs at the same time on your page with different modules inside them.. but I’m guessing that they have taken that into consideration when making mootools and maybe they won’t "collide" in anyway, but this is why I asked.

                    hi doze,

thx for clearing this. I will look at the slimbox gallery and consider if it works. thx again for pointing out the alternative.

                    regards marc

                      Great site Marc!
I was just looking around for examples for my MODx-site, and your’s is by far the most functional, elegant and appealing one!
Would you mind to share some of your MODX-related stuff and settings you’ve used?
                      Esp. the moofx and wayfinder/CSS-stuff.
That would be great and provide me with a fabulous kick-start laugh
