Hi again guys! Thanks for the comments on MathTacular.com

Here’s another MODx-supported site. I would love to get some comments/feedback on this site too. I used a simple MODx template, some css fun, dropmenu and maxigallery on this one:

Nice site layout, however the ’Contact’ link is offset to the right and only the ’Con’ part of the word is viewable.

You’ve got a few CSS issues there -

The contact link is off to the right here as well (Safari 2.0.4/Firefox 2)
Navigation goes over main content area in Opera 9. In Safari/Firefox the menu goes over the content when the window is squashed down to ~750px.

        Overall -

I like the simplicity of the design, but I think content area :hover effect is ill-advised. There is nothing to draw my eyes to the content - and I initially thought that the images were just very dull (I don’t use the mouse 50% of the time surfing the web), but they looked quite nice once I hover on the content area.

Please report on what happened. Would like to learn of any vulnerabilities in ModX

Looks like someone is again running with register_globals On and an unpatched 0.9.2.1 install. That’s my guess anyway.

Hmm.. I think this forum section (You and Your sites) can be very interesting to hackers and dangerous to MODx developers. Look at this: Google Search doesn’t give any words about MODx on this website so hacker can’t learn it from search engines (it is frequent hacker’s practice to find websites with vulnerabilities). Most likely he has learnt it from here and he can be the frequent visitor of this forum. He is Russian so he can be also in our Russian community sad.

Guests can also view most of the sections if I’m right. It’s scary though, yeah, but I don’t think theres much of a chance things like this will happen when you’ve got stuff like register_globals off and you’re using the latest version of MODx...

@trumpetmic: My guess is that your site was hacked thanks to vulnerabilities in the Gallery 1 script. Are you running latest version (1.5.5-pl1)?

                    Cheers
