I’ve been looking for some time for a proper CMS that would allow me a lot of freedom and a the same time give me a lot of power. I’m a big fan of clean and proper coding and of standards (especially if they make sense). I have to say that MODx really fits the bill. It even inspired me to finally try and master PHP and so far I’m really enjoy learning and using it.

This site is not too complex, but it looks unusual, built with a lot of graphics. I’ve used a modified version of Ditto for the blogging and MaxiGallery (modified as well) for the galleries plus some TV’s for extra info. The navigation is done manually, because the structure is quite flat and doesn’t change much, so at the time DropMenu seemed like an overkill.

Here it is. It’s in Dutch. Hope you like it.

I really like the looks, though the table used in the design is a bit of an disappointment to me (though that’s more my own taste, I prefer the web as semantic as possible wink).

          Overal great work!

            I love the site!

How did you created the gallery? Is there a plug in (don’t know the MODx terminology) or something to help just visual designers (non techies).

            Thanks!

I guess you can do the same with a slimmed down MaxiGallery.
