    Hi everyone. First of all, a big thank you to the developers of MODx grin -- this is a great CMS that’s easy to build sites from the ground up. I really like it, and I keep bouncing back and forth between deciding to use MODx for everything I do or use drupal (my drupal sites are at http://brianpedigo.info and http://californiabarexam.info).

    Right now, my first work-in-progress MODx site is at http://www.bestlawfirmsites.com/modx/index.html
    (I know, it’s a weird URL to have a dog site...but I’m cheap)

    Right now I’m having two problems that I need advice on:

    1) The borders that are supposed to cascade down the left, left-middle, and right-hand side of the page are not automatically cascading down the y-axis 100% height. Is this because the CSS doesn’t know how much the PHP script will output? I can’t figure out how to get it to tile all the way down to the bottom of the page.

    2) The site is being hosted on a free Godaddy server. For this reason (I think) the file browser does not work when I want to upload/insert images or files. Has anyone here ever had that problem?

    Thank you all for your community and support.

      I think there are some issues indeed with GoDaddy servers, but I don’t recall specifics.

        Brian,

        I usually setup 1 or 2 wrapper divs around the whole site. I set my backgrounds in these at 100%. You could combine the left border (dog_template_05.gif) and the middle image (dog_template_08.gif) into one image and repeat-y. Then for wrapper2, you could repeat-y the right border (dog_template_09.gif).

        Maybe Andreas has a better solution, but this is what I do for my dynamic sites with backgrounds. You could even create a wrapper 3 for your middle image (dog_template_08.gif) if you want to keep it seperate.

          Thanks for the helpful post Chuck. I appreciate it!

          Sorry for the n00b CSS questions, but I just tried wrapping the page in these two div ids-

          #leftwrapper{
          	width:auto;
          	height:100%;
          	background-image: url(left-border.gif);
          	background-repeat: repeat-y;
          	background-position: top left;
          }
          #rightwrapper{
          	width:auto;
          	height:100%;
          	background-image: url(right_border.jpg);
          	background-repeat: repeat-y;
          	background-position: top right;
          }

          The full css file is at http://www.bestlawfirmsites.com/modx/assets/templates/GoldenDoodle.net/site.css

          By the way, what is the text editor that this forum page uses? I like it even more than the FCKeditor.
