Inspired Solutions.... the new look

Hi everyone. I’ve been fairly quiet in the forums since I arrived a long time ago now. But I still come back to see what’s going on occasionally. MODx is still my CMS of choice.

Since the last incarnation of this site, business has been good and I now require a further face lift to the site. Or more like a brand new face.

The site has a semi-integrated shopping cart system, and works nicely together with a simple design merge. Both systems use the same images and stylesheets. I needed an ’inspired’ design... here is it... in all it’s colourful glory. Hope you like it...

It’s taken a while to develop both systems so they gave the appearence of working as one to the untrained eye, and there are still some parts that could do with improving on. The front page is a little heavy on graphics, but it’s manageable. But all in all I like how it has turned out. Hope you do to.

Very nice. What cart did you use?

Just about to write the exact same line as Susan did! ..is it cubecart?

Great work! Looks very fresh.

Thanks guys. Yes, it’s MODx and CubeCart working closely together

You did a very good job on that site! In my humble opinion it definately is one of the better sites i have seen posted here so far. I agree about the home being graphically heavy and yes it is indeed not beyond the bareable especially since the rest of the website is very readable.

Much too busy for my taste.

@MrDutchy
Thank you for your kind feedback. Glad you like the site.

@web_designer
The front page is not that ’busy’. But what is there is great search engine fodder, and hopefully it will catch people attention. The rest of the site is much lighter on the eye.

Go look at http://godaddy.com for a few minutes, and you’ll appreciate the simplicity and beauty of this site design. I don’t think it’s too busy at all. Props to a great, unique design and easy navigation. I’m envious...

On the whole, I like it. Must admit I’m tempted to buy the CMS documentation!

I suggest you take the second "Home" off the menu (the one underneath the logo) - the link above the logo is sufficient. And you have another Home link in crumbtrails in some parts anyway (which is fine and logical). Just a small change, but I think the repetition sticks out presently and.. well it’d be better.

Thanks for the feedback

@PaulGregory
Thanks. I’ll think about your suggestion, hadn’t thought of it before.
The brochure CMS guide I’ve been thinking of consolidating them. It’s bascially a guide to help novices to learn their way round the system (taking into account the permissions restrictions), and how to manage a website. Generally things we take for granted.
