jlivingston,
The site is kind of bare. But I like how clean and simple it is. I also really like your image for add comments.

hey joey,
Loved your article. Any more in the pipe line?
You have my vote! (I’m not sure what for, nevertheless)
Very nice! I like the simplicity!
Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for all the great comments, guys. I’m thrilled that you like the simplicity. Believe it or not, that simplicity took me many complex nights to design and come to agreeable terms with. Clean and simple was one of my main goals.
I keep hearing everyone refer to "the article", as if there is only one, and I hear Chuck saying that the site is a bit bare. The site is bare, however, I’m a bit concerned that perhaps somehow the top navigation bar is being missed. There are actually 4 articles of varying lengths currently on the site.
This is a great useability test. Is my interface failing to be intuitive?
If you loot at the first screenshot, the title is over the submenu but in the second the title is on the same line.
The margin beetwen the header and the submenu is bigger in the first case.
I don’t have photoshop on the computer I’m writing from.
If I can, I will underline the difference.
:-)
I see what you’re saying now. Yes, that’s definitely intentional. The menu moves down when you’re reading an article, and the article’s header takes over the space at the top. I can see that it might look strange now, but the reason why the header doesn’t go above the menu in the Articles list page is because, once there is more than one article to list, that article excerpt will be part of a series of article excerpts to choose from. My thoughts were, if you’re looking at a list of articles, it wouldn’t make sense for the title of the article at the top to be bigger than the others; it’s just at the top of the list, and other than that, it’s not any more important.
You can check out the Journal section to see an actual list, which might help it to make a bit more sense.
I really appreciate the feedback.
