    Hi everyone,

About 2 weeks ago I thought I had died and gone to CMS heaven having found Etomite.

On the tail end of many frustrating man hours of messing around with CMSs that were ugly to use, bloated beyond belief and bug ridden because of it, I had about given up on CMSs as a bad joke. Having been programing for over 25 years (and yes, I can write assembler for an Intel 4004 and if you know what that is then you will understand wink ) I suppose I had certain expectations. Mambo, Jambo and Sambo seemed OK but serious use showed them not to be.

    Worst case, UGLY.

OK, Etomite was found and immediately we saw it was a damned fine product. Slight cracks formed as we went along but nothing to cause any waterleaks. Notwithstanding, we were told about MODx and, well, here we are.

Damn you MODx, that’s 6 sites now we have to convert from ETOMITE rolleyes.

What a great product. I am rushing through it trying to find the brick walls, but haven’t really found a one as yet.

So, here we are and I reckon we’re here to stay.

As soon as we get cracking we will post the sites for design reference etc.

Great product and looks like a great community and I look forward to becoming a contributing member ASAP.

    Kind Regards
    Tony Benci

Lucky for you converting a site should take 5 minutes or less (well, depending on how long it takes to FTP the files up or how you do that). It really is that easy. smiley

          G’day Ryan,

Thank you for your welcome. We stumbled about 4.00 o’clock today when we realised we didn’t have a menu to use so I lifted cool menu and got it going else we would have had our first site up in about half an hour from go to woe. I will be posting it tomorrow. This will be our learning curve site so the others will just go across with little care I reckon.

I brought my snippets over with no change and ( smiley I noticed one or two mentions to Etomite in the documentation so I was breathing great sighs of relief).

I already have a question which I am off to find the answer too and, as best as I can see, this is about the only one.

          Regards
          Tony

                    Welcome to the family!

I was limited to writing assembly utilities for an 8086 PC, but it was still the best. I came late to the programming world, since my father and then my first husband didn’t believe it was something "girls did". My second sofware purchase was the MS MacroAssembler (7, I believe), then I discovered the BBS world and shareware. And finally the Internet, OSS, and Etomite with MODx v.1 extensions, and just moved along with MODx. Wait’ll you get a load of the MODx 1.0 roadmap! I get up in the middle of the night sometimes just to check the latest SVN log reports!
