I just found MODx after I went back to www.opensourcecms.com in tears after the latest attempt at getting my online magazine to work without having to commit to a two year academic program to learn PHP/Advanced SQL/Systems admins. I mean, I just want to find a way to write my stories, present them well on a page, and then write the next story.
I’ve tried every big CMS out there. Joomla, Postnuke, Mambo, Typo 3 and Drupal (I’m still having vicious nightmares about the last two. All of them have required an academic degree in computer sciences to get them to
look the way I want, never mind work the way I want.
I’m still reserving judgement on MODx. Too many people have told me too many tall tales about CMS:es. But so far it looks good. So far.
