Hi everyone;
I’m pretty new to the whole CMS thing. SO far I’m damned impressed
My introduction was with etomite about a month ago. Then I found out about this fork.
I found the need to develop an intranet for my company, and between etomite and modx i’ve managed to learn quite a bit. A big thanks to you all! Reading over the posts in these forums have been an immense help! My main concentration has been on using the CMS has a front end for databases and document management. Form and file processing being what i’m concentrating on right now. The webuser features is what attracted me to modx initially, but i’ve really like what you’ve done with TVs as well. (I can’t wait to see how that all develops) I’ve no knowledge of javascript and the likes, but hope to get into the whole AJAX side of things in the near future.
The makeform module/snippet has been a huge help. (i was just looking through the source code for that to give the kudos where it belongs but can’t find the name)
Another application i’m using, that others might be interested in, is called OWL. It’s a really decent document management application!
For me, PHP and MySQL have been absolute blessings! haha But I’d never have been able to pick up php and really utilize mysql without apps like modx and etomite. So, another big shout out to the developers and contributors! I hope i can contribute somehow.
anyone need a little snippet for reading xml files from a database?
