Hey all, not my first post here but the first I’ve had time just for fun.

This is an incredible script, all I can say is WOW. The people I’ve seen on the forum here are top notch too, I hope this community grows to rival the more entrenched cmses (it certainly deserves to).

Personally, I’m more into phpBB as far as forums go, which I doubt is too popular around here with the whole SMF thing going on (which I’m just getting into, this bridge module is intriguing). I’ve worked with the phpBB script for a couple years and am a diehard fan of it, am used to modding the core code of it to the point I could do it (and have done it) in my sleep. So the admin-panel-centric approach of MODx is a whole world apart for me. I see both advantages and a few drawbacks, but that’s always the way. smiley

In <3 days I have three installs of MODx running, and one of them has seven sites (thanks to SubSites) being developed on it. Amazing to have whole sites and domains with no files... no directories... just a database and a name. Very cool concept. grin

Last paragraph, I promise. My intentions here are to make the most of this script for my own sites, to help out in support here when I know an answer, and to write/port some snippets and templates whenever I have time. I may start messing around with a phpBB bridge, so if any work has been done on one please let me know. Not to compete with the SMF one, just to provide an alternative. wink

Thanks so much to all involved for the site, script, and everything in them, and apologies for being so verbose here. rolleyes

Welcome and enjoy your stay! I bet that many would be happy to see that phpBB bridge as an option smiley

            Welcome !

Always nice to know why MODx is appreciated, and also great to have you on board, as Doze said, a phpBB bridge would most definitely be a hit @MODx grin

Anyway, I hope you’ll enjoy MODx as much as I (and many others) have !

We would be using PHPbb now if it had run under PHP5 a little more than a year ago...

Thanks for the replies, it’s a very welcoming community here. I’m very glad I found this script. grin

It sounds like there is definitely some demand for phpBB integration so I will start looking into it as time permits but these days time is not something I have in abundance so don’t expect anything overnight, lol.

                Thanks again,
