Educational website running MODx

Yesterday, I updated bwhw.de (lang=de) to make it now run by the most recent MODx release.

There is a database of available courses (http://www.bwhw.de/angebote.html) which is completely based on template variables. (Well, they are mirrored in a seperate mysql-table for perfomance while doing a search.)

(Server software: lighttpd + php, accelerated by eaccelerator)

Out of curiosity : did you use FlexSearchFormTvars for the "ProfilSuche" dropdown ?

Well, the ’Profilsuche’ (something like ’find courses matching me’) was written from scratch due to the fact it’s kind of special:

• It sorts output by distance to the users location (ZIP) so that courses in the user’s region will appear on top
• There is a "did you mean"-feature applied to the keyword search
• It suggests alternative search criteria and finds approximate matches (known from Ebay)

This is the best looking Modx site I have seen. brilliant! Sauber!

Any reason why you have chosen XHTML? It doesn’t validate.

If you would use the real content-type for XHTML, most of the browsers wouldn’t display your site.

Even if you won’t believe it - W3c’s validator is a good friend of mine So you’re right, the page didn’t validate due to some changes - thanks to your posting it’s fixed now

I don’t know anything about the "real" content-type - btw sounds a bit mysterious. Could you explain, please?

The content-type for XHTML is application/xhtml+xml
