Ok, this might be more complex that I hope, but I have a pdf form that I want to be able to pass variables to. I’m making a website for a guy who wants a bill of sale that he can print out, but wants some of the fields automatically generated from info on his site (price, model #, etc.)
How would I go about doing this in modx?

It doesn’t have to be a PDF, does it? It can be HTML, with a very simple template. I’ve done it that way several times. Just print it out from the browser (or if he’s got a Mac, he can print -> PDF -> Save As PDF).
Check out
tcpdf, a popular open-source class for generating PDF documents. I’ve used it before to import and assemble PDF documents from multiple sources, and I’m sure it can do what you are requesting.

Or maybe the php class from
http://fpdf.org/ combined with a snippet can help you.

Do you have acrobat pro? You could add form fields to your pdf and generate a fdf from the data from modx.
