      It’s probably not related, but depending on your hosting environment (I’m using Rackspace Cloud) you may have to add a few lines to your .htaccess file.

      I wasn’t getting blank pages - I could tell it was a session/cookie problem but the behavior was really odd.

      A big thanks to Susan for this post, here is what fixed my worries.

      First, create a folder "sessions" or whatever you want, then paste the full server path to that new folder in the .htaccess file

      # Write the sessions into a directory specific to the server instance
      #php_value session.save_path      /full/server/path/to/your/new/folder/sessions/
      #php_value session.gc_maxlifetime 28800

      Sorry if this is no help. undecided

        If it were session related the user should be getting logged out continually

        tried it anyway, nope did not work.

        I sent in a bug report...

        on the bright side it appears to get worse the longer you are logged in.... sad

          You need to provide environment information. Random problems like this are generally a result of your hosting environment and nothing at all to do with MODx.

                  Got it solved [I think - at least hasn’t happened again today]

                  I had to specify the open_basedir & include_path in the virtualhost config, for seom odd reason the include path was starting with a .:: instead of .:

                  seems to be working now.

                      hi, but you can detail how solved the problem?

                      Basically some php/apache configurations don’t seem to be able to ’catch’ the include path on every request - not sure why or how, if this is the case [mediatemple DV] then you need to specify the include path and open base dir.

                      <IfModule mod_php5.c>
                      php_admin_flag engine on
                      php_admin_flag safe_mode off
                      php_admin_value open_basedir "/var/www/vhosts/xxx.com/httpdocs:/tmp:/var/www/vhosts/xxx.com/httpdocs:/var/www/vhosts/xxx.com/httpdocs"
                      php_admin_value include_path ".:/var/www/vhosts/xxx.com/httpdocs/app/code/local:/var/www/vhosts/xxx.com/httpdocs/app/code/community:/var/www/vhosts/xxx.com/httpdocs/app/code/core:/var/www/vhosts/xxx.com/httpdocs/lib:"
                      </IfModule>

                      I’m pretty sure you can only specify these in the apache config - won’t be able to use an .htaccess - check the php docs for complete info.
